How does pricing and commission work for Amazon Kindle sales?

Option 1: Amazon pays 35% of the Kindle sales price and you can set the retail price to whatever you want.

Option 2: Amazon pays 70% of the Kindle sales price but you must set your Kindle price between $2.99 and $9.99; and you must reside in the United States.
