If I don't register my copyright, is there anything I can do to protect my work?

Yes. We have worked with authors who have printed and mailed a hardcopy version of their work back to themselves with a note of ownership included. You can simply keep that copy in the envelope, which includes a government stamped mailing date for your record as the official copyright date of registration.

In addition to the protection you already have through federal law, you may also be happy to know that Outskirts Press offers optional registration with the US Copyright Office for $199.
